What We Do
LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) uses laser pulses to capture millions of precise 3D measurements per second — penetrating tree canopy, dense vegetation, and complex terrain that photogrammetry alone cannot accurately map. The result is a dense, highly accurate 3D point cloud that reveals the true ground surface beneath the trees.
Amped Aerial deploys drone-mounted LiDAR systems to collect high-density point cloud data for terrain modeling, powerline corridor analysis, vegetation encroachment studies, and land development projects. Our deliverables are processed in industry-standard software (ROCK Robotic Cloud, LAStools, Global Mapper) and exported in formats compatible with AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and most engineering workflows.
LiDAR data collection is especially valuable for canyon parcels, hillside developments, forested land, utility corridors, and any project where accurate bare-earth elevation data is critical to design and planning.
Important: Amped Aerial LLC provides aerial LiDAR data acquisition services only. We are not a state-licensed professional engineering or land surveying firm. Our LiDAR deliverables are intended for use by your licensed professional engineer or land surveyor. This is not a substitute for licensed surveying or engineering services.
What You Receive
High-Density Point Cloud (LAS/LAZ)
Dense 3D point cloud data compatible with AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, Global Mapper, and CloudCompare.
Bare-Earth DTM
Ground-only digital terrain model with vegetation and structures filtered out — critical for accurate grading design.
Classified Point Cloud
Points classified by type: ground, low/medium/high vegetation, buildings, and powerlines.
Canopy Height Model
Vegetation height data showing tree canopy above bare ground — used for arborist studies and environmental review.
Contour Lines
1-foot or 2-foot contour intervals derived from LiDAR elevation data for civil engineering use.
Powerline & Corridor Analysis
Conductor sag, clearance measurements, and vegetation encroachment zones along utility corridors.
